How much do the trunks hold?

I was thinking perhaps in the future (far far away) of either getting Kirsten or Samantha's trunk for storage. I was wondering how much do they reasonable hold. Is it worth the money?

I'm a Samantha completist, so boy am I ever thankful for that steamer trunk! It holds almost all of Samantha's accessories. On the shelves I have some of her medium-sized stuff that takes up too much drawer space, like her valise, her nighttime bowl and pitcher, and her lemonade set pitcher. The three drawers hold her smaller accessories, like the rest of her birthday table stuff, her music box, lunchbox, stereoscope, croquet set, beach bucket and shovel, Nutcracker doll, etc. I use the open side for her larger accessories such as her pack basket, ice cream freezer, parasol, beach umbrella, and lifesavers. If it's packed neatly, it could easily hold more items. Unfortunately, Sam has waaay too many clothes to fit in that side anyway. I'd say it would comfortably fit up to five dresses if you wanted to, or you could store your doll there instead. I keep her furniture, outfits, and outfit accessories such as her shoes and stockings, separate from the trunk. Also, with all the other things I have stored in her trunk, I couldn't fit the wedding cake in there. I kept the Ag box it came in and that is where it goes when it's not out. Obviously, her doll pram doesn't fit in there either.

If you are into collecting accessories, the trunks are a huge help! If you mostly collect the outfits and don't mind folding them, then the trunks will work nicely for that, too. If you buy more dolls than clothes and accessories, then you might want to pass on the trunks. Although they do hold your dolls nicely when you need to pack them away, their real usefulness lies in all the knicknacks and accessories you can fit into them.
